A picture of police providing security to a schoolgirl has warmed the hearts of Kenyans on social media.
The police officer was on Monday applauded for providing security to the learner amid protests in Nairobi.
In a picture that has since made rounds on social media, the police is seen carrying a piece of log and walking with the girl
Directorate of Criminal Investigations in a statement appreciated the police for their services.
"Thank you for your service officer," DCI said.
Kenyans applauded the officer saying he is the hero of the day.
"Hero of the day," Vivado said.

This is after police engaged protesters by lobbing teargas as Azimio supporters demonstrated.
This happened even as anti-riot police continue to engage the protestors in running battles.
Police were at one point forced to retreat and watch from a distance as the rowdy youth burnt tyres and barricaded key sections of the road.
Some businesses have been paralysed across the country after the opposition called for a countrywide protest. Some schools have closed down due to the protests.
Heshima Road Primary students left the school after Azimio demonstrations intensified in Shauri Moyo estate, Starehe Constituency.
