There’s a scramble going on at the moment in the world of leadership development programmes. For decades, many have delivered content that prioritises IQ over EQ. In fact, many have not even considered the value of developing Emotional Intelligence, based on some fundamental misconceptions. Like the belief that EQ skills are either innate or acquired in childhood, so by adulthood they’re set for life. Or the need to focus on the power of personality - sometimes wrapped up in Personal Brand - without exploring the wealth of credible research that links EQ rather than Ego to improvements in performance and potential.
