Catholic University Monks will face United States International University in the Nationwide final.

Monks, who played in the 2014/2015 Kenya Cup season beat Kisumu RFC 35-23 at the RFUEA ground to romp to the final as USIU crushed Moi Universty 46-13 at the same venue.

Bremner Namisi gave the Monks an early lead with a penalty. Kisumu responded with two penalties scored by Byron Ogada for a 6-3 lead. Monks dominated possession and territory and scored the opening try through Ted Owino’s try, which Namisi converted for a 13-6 lead. Allan Musyoka scored Monks’ second try though it was not converted as they led 18-6 at half-ime.

Kisumu came out firing in the second half with Tony Okello touching down. Ogada kicked over the conversion to trim Monks lead to five at 18-13.

Monks stepped up a gear thereafter with Namisi adding a penalty to widen the lead to 21-13 and Martin Oyugi touched down twice in a span of eight minutes with Namisi adding a conversion to widen the lead to 36-13.

Kisumu ended the game with a flourish as Robert Suare and Chris Okumu scored a try each with Ogada adding a conversion. USIU outplayed Moi University in the second semi to reach final. The Rift Valley champions drew the first blood through Anthony Odhiambo’s penalty but USIU got back via a Lewis Lionel’s try.
