Detectives are investigating a horrible incident in which the body of a woman was found stashed in a sack and abandoned in a kiosk in Embakasi area, Nairobi.

Police said they were on Wednesday afternoon informed by locals that they stumbled on the remains in a white sack.

"The woman seemed to have been murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped at the scene. But we have not identified," Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said.

He added the body was naked and had been strangled based on preliminary findings.

Her mouth was stuffed with a piece of clothing while her limbs were tied with another cloth.

Her eyes too had been covered with a piece of clothing at the time the body was discovered, police said.

The body had strangulation marks on the neck and there were bloodstains on the nose and ears.

Police also said they noticed signs of incontinence on her indicating she died violently.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending further probe and identification.

“We will get to the bottom of the matter to know the killers and why,” said Bungei.

He added they will start with identifying the woman as part of the probe into the murder.
