A woman accused of cheating a businessman and tricking him to pay Sh710,000 for a Toyota Axio has been charged in court.

Alice Peninah Wanjiku was charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Electina Rihani.

She is accused of using tricks to convince Benard Ondari Ratemo to pay her the said amount for a Toyota Axio a fact she knew was false.

The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on diverse dates between July 1 and December 30 in Lavington.

She however denied the charges.

Wanjiku's lawyer Vincent Yegon said the accused person was not a flight risk.

He said that the accused person had a young family and pleaded for lenient bond terms.

Yegon urged the court to grant him all the witness statements that the prosecution wanted to rely on.
