Kenyans on Sunday flocked the refurbished Uhuru Park to celebrate Christmas Day in style.

Contrary to tradition where most families travel upcountry for the festivities, the venue witnessed a relatively high number of people who opted to spend the day in the city.  

Families indulged in food, drinks and dotted their faces with paint as photographers took the opportunity to cash in on the flow of ready customers eager to document the day's event.  

Hawkers also made a killing as snacks were in plenty demand as families gathered in groups to while the day away as children engaged in play. 

Christians celebrate Christmas Day to mark, as the name suggests, the birth Jesus Christ.
