Body of man, 30, found at Uhuru Highway

Police are investigating possible murder after the body of a man aged about 30 was discovered on Uhuru Highway in Nairobi on Sunday.

The body had physical head, hand and back injuries. It was found by members of the public who informed the police.

A mobile phone without battery was found in his shoe.

Police believe he was killed elsewhere and dumped at the site opposite View Park Towers. The area is usually busy at all times.

The body was moved to City Mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification.

Cases of the discovery of bodies in the city have been on the rise and they remain unsolved. Authorities say most of the cases are still under probe.

Some of the victims had a history of crime amid speculation they may have been eliminated by state agencies. But police have denied involvement even as investigations continue.

Police say some of the bodies were of victims who died suddenly out of various medical complications.

Last week, the bodies of two missing brothers were found dumped under a bridge in Joska, Kangundo Road.

The two had been missing since September 4 when they were seen alive at a club in Kamulu.

Police said they were called and informed that the bodies of Johnson Karuga and his brother Kelvin Kimani were under the bridge.

The family had been searching for the two.

Police said they had established the deceased’s mobile phones went off at almost the same time.

Police handling the matter said they are yet to establish a motive and those behind the killings.

The bodies are in the mortuary where an autopsy is planned to establish how they died.

The father of the victims, Joseph Kimani, said the family demands justice.
