RONO: Let's join hands and work hard to end poverty

Kenyans should focus on the ways the money in their pockets will help them solve this issue.

The World Bank projected that Kenya’s poverty rate will fall to 33.4 per cent this year, below the pre-crisis level of 34.4 per cent in 2019.

Although this is good news for Kenyans, we still have a huge task in fighting the economic inequality, corruption and health problems amongst other challenges.

Agricultural development is one of the most powerful tools to end extreme poverty in our country, boost shared prosperity, and feed projected billions of people yearly not only in Kenya but also worldwide.

The growth in the agriculture sector is two to four times more effective in raising incomes hence rising standards of living among the poorest compared to other sectors.

However, it is not only agriculture that can help us but also other fields such as building up communities that have become one of Kenya's main methods of alleviating poverty.

The efforts administered by the government by improving the education system and focusing on its younger population are taking steps to create opportunities for the youth and the country at large to prosper.

Through the use of newer classroom technology, the introduction of CBC and better resources will be a good impact on students who clear school and have been through CBC.

They will be more prepared to work and increase economic growth.

In Kenya, by giving younger people the opportunity to build their knowledge, there is the assurance that the poverty levels will drop toward zero level.

This is because the economy grows from the increase in educated people, hence poverty automatically decreases.

Kenyans should focus on the ways the money in their pockets will help them solve this issue.

If it is by venturing into business or rather agriculture, will it assist them to achieve their daily dreams of being free from poverty?

We deserve good life free from poverty.

We all need to come together to ensure that this is respected.

We should access clean water, and basic health care, empower girls and boys and improve child nutrition.
