An ODM member of the National Assembly got the shock of his life when a senior party member warned him of dire consequences for softening his stand on BBI. The two exchanged bitter words in the corridors of Parliament, in what nearly degenerated into a shouting and name-calling match. The junior MP, who is serving his first term, was overhead telling colleagues that he felt threatened by the verbal attacks from the high-ranking ODM stalwart and would seek the intervention of party boss Raila Odinga (pictured). The two lawmakers have previously exchanged harsh words over their party loyalty or otherwise.

A Tangatanga MP is an unhappy man. The legislator, who has lately toned down his verbal assaults on some opposition leaders, is said to have intimated to a colleague that he is contemplating switching camps. The MP is facing a litmus test in his reelection following changing political tides in his backyard. A former state officer planning a debut in politics is threatening his chances of reelection. His switch from Tangatanga could puncture Deputy President William Ruto's political game plan to win over Western ahead of next year's election.

An MP from Rift Valley caused laughter in Parliament when he rose to pay tribute to former Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange who died last month. The lawmaker struggled to string together coherent sentences in the English language to the bemusement of his colleagues. To make matters worse, the MP belaboured to unleash bombastic phrases to prove his literacy. Many wondered why the MP likes going for complicated terminologies when he can express himself simply in Kiswahili.
