Former Treasury CS Henry Rotich loses sister in road accident

The family has appealed for prayers as they mourned their loved one

Betty Rotich, the sister of former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, has died following a road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

Her sister, Edna Rotich, announced the death in a statement shared on social media, saying Betty died on the night of July 3.

"It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved sister, Betty Rotich, who went to be with the Lord on the night of July 3, 2026, following a tragic road accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway," Edna said.

She said the family was devastated by the loss and appealed for prayers as they mourned their loved one.

"As a family, we are devastated by this loss and ask for your prayers during this incredibly difficult time," Edna said.

She added that friends and relatives were meeting at the family's home in Kaptagat as preparations for the funeral got underway.

"Friends and relatives are currently meeting at the parent's home in Kaptagat. Funeral arrangements are currently underway, and we will share more details regarding the memorial service and burial as soon as it's finalised," she said.

"May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace."
