Murango led a list of 15 senators recognised for their performance, with Nyandarua Senator John Methu following closely at 68 per cent. Murang'a Senator Joel Nyutu ranked third with 65 per cent.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Samburu Senator Steve Lelegwe followed with 61 per cent each.

Mandera Senator Ali Roba and Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua each recorded 60 per cent in the poll.

West Pokot Senator Julius Mugor scored 58 per cent to take the next position.

Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei and Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago completed the list after each attained 58 per cent.

According to Infotrak, senators operate in a space that is sometimes less visible to ordinary citizens. Their constitutional mandate includes representing counties, protecting devolution, legislating and overseeing county interests, with much of that work taking place in Parliament, committees, national debates and institutional oversight.

The poll noted that while senators may be active at the national level, citizens often judge their performance by how visible they are in defending county interests and translating their work into tangible county benefits.

The assessment focused on county interest, protection of devolution, oversight, visibility and citizen confidence.

The survey was conducted between January and May 2026 across all 47 counties, covering 290 constituencies and 1,450 wards with a sample of 87,286 respondents.

Infotrak said each county was treated as an individual universe, with sample sizes ranging from 738 to 5,100 respondents based on population and the number of wards.

Data was collected through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) and analysed using SPSS.

Respondents rated their senators, MPs and county women representatives on a scale of one to 10, with one representing "very poor" and 10 "excellent". The final rankings were based on the average scores awarded by respondents in each constituency and county.
