Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo
Those
pushing for opinion polls, what did they get?
Even if
another opinion poll is commissioned, I don’t think it will be very far from what
we saw from the Tifa polls.
The push for
scientific opinion polling is just a proposal.
I am sure
several proposals will come on the table, and the united opposition leaders, whose target is one: to send President William Ruto home, will agree on one method to pick the
candidate.
Everyone is
entitled to his or her proposal on the method to be employed to guide the
choice of the joint presidential candidate to face President Ruto in the 2027 general election.
That was not
the last poll; other scientific polls will continue to be done, and all the
presidential hopefuls will be rated.
The
principals will eventually decide which method. The best method will be applied.
There are
very many available methods to them, and they will agree and give us
direction.
Of course, whichever
method is chosen must ensure the popularity of the candidate across the country so that
our candidate will carry the day in next year’s election.
Our
supporters must remain calm and allow our principals to agree on the best model
that will ensure we have a strong candidate to face off with President Ruto.
Our leaders
in the united opposition must also stick together because it is only by having a
single candidate that they will be able to unseat Ruto.
Anyone amongst
them who will try to bolt out will face the wrath of Kenyans who are tired
of the current administration, which has made their lives more difficult.
Kenyans
should give the united opposition time to settle on the joint candidate and rally behind him or her so that we
change the leadership of this country.
