
Parents of students at Alliance High School have been invited to a meeting following an incident involving a small section of mattresses in one of the older dormitory facilities, the school has said.
In a statement dated June 4, 2026, the school reported that the situation was quickly contained and that there was no disruption to learning.
"We wish to inform you that an incident involving a small section of mattresses in one of the older dormitory facilities occurred within the school. We are grateful to report that the situation was promptly contained and managed by the school administration and relevant teams. Most importantly, all students are safe, accounted for, and continuing with their normal morning activities and academic routines," the statement read.
The administration said normal academic work has continued and students remain under supervision. It emphasised that safety measures were immediately activated after the incident was noted.
The Board of Management and school leadership also called a parents’ meeting scheduled for 10.00 a.m. on the same day.
The school stated: "As a precautionary measure, and in keeping with our commitment to student welfare, safety, and open communication with parents, the Board of Management and the School Administration have resolved to convene a brief parents’ meeting at the school today at 10.00 a.m."
The meeting is expected to update parents on the incident, outline measures taken, and provide clarity on the school’s response.
It will also address concerns and discuss both immediate and longer-term plans on student welfare and safety.
Following the meeting, parents have been requested to take their sons home for the weekend.
The school explained this was a precautionary step to allow time for internal reviews.
It said: "Following the meeting, parents are kindly requested to leave with their sons and spend the weekend with them at home."
The school further reassured parents that there was no reason for alarm.
"We wish to reassure all parents that there is no cause for alarm. The students remain calm, safe, and under the care and supervision of the school."
The administration thanked parents for their understanding and cooperation as it continues to prioritise student welfare and safety.
The school said it remains committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and to working closely with parents during the process going forward in line with its mandate as stated by the school. The school reiterated its commitment to student safety and welfare always.
