Veteran sports commentator Diblo Kaberia, popularly known as 'El Mago'.Family, friends and colleagues will on Thursday gather at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi to celebrate the life and legacy of veteran football commentator Paul Kaberia, popularly known as Diblo El Mago.
A memorial mass for the celebrated broadcaster will be held from 2 pm as the sporting fraternity continues to mourn one of Kenya's most recognisable football voices.
In a communication to colleagues, mourners were encouraged to attend the service and stand with the family during the difficult period.
"We encourage all those who are able to attend to join the family, friends and colleagues in celebrating his life and legacy," the notice read.
Diblo El Mago earned a special place in the hearts of football fans across the country through his unique style of commentary, sharp wit and unmatched passion for the game.
His energetic storytelling and trademark catchphrases transformed football commentary into a captivating experience, making him a household name among generations of listeners.
The memorial mass is expected to bring together family members, friends, colleagues and football lovers who followed his illustrious career and admired his contribution to sports broadcasting.

Kaberia served at Radio Jambo as a commentator for more than two decades.
Radio Africa Group HR Manager Jemima Ngode, in a statement last week, announced Kaberia’s passing, describing him as a dedicated employee whose voice and passion for football endeared him to listeners across the country.
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, Mr Paul Kaberia, football commentator at Radio Jambo for over 20 years,” Ngode said.
She added, "We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him. We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time."
