SHA advertises senior management vacancy

Applicants are required to meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced a vacancy for the position of Corporation Secretary/Director Legal Services as part of efforts to strengthen its leadership and institutional capacity.

According to the vacancy notice, SHA is a state corporation established under the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, and is mandated to provide financial risk protection for Kenyan residents through equitable access to quality healthcare.

The Authority administers the Social Health Insurance Fund, the Primary Healthcare Fund, and the Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund in collaboration with stakeholders.

The Authority stated that the recruitment exercise is aimed at improving its operational effectiveness and delivery of services.

In the notice, SHA said, "To enhance institutional capacity and deliver on its mandate, the SHA Board seeks to recruit a visionary, result-driven, and experienced professional for the following Senior Management position."

The advertised position is that of Corporation Secretary/Director Legal Services, classified under SHA Grade 2, with one vacancy available.

Applicants are required to meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution by submitting valid and current clearance certificates from various government agencies.

These include a Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI, a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority, a Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board, an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission clearance certificate, and a clearance certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau.

In addition, applicants must submit a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, a cover letter demonstrating suitability for the position, and contacts of at least three professional referees.

Applications should be addressed to the Chairperson of the Social Health Authority and may be submitted online through the Authority's recruitment portal or physically delivered to the SHA Building on Ragati Road in Nairobi.

The deadline for submission of applications is 23 June 2026 at 5.00 p.m. SHA further emphasised fairness and integrity in the recruitment process, stating, "SHA is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and gender equality. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted."

The vacancy announcement comes as the authority continues to strengthen its management structure in support of the implementation of Kenya's social health insurance programme.
