
The Jubilee Party has unveiled Wilson Kigwa as its candidate for the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election following the conclusion of the party’s internal nomination process.
In a statement on Tuesday, the party said it had received applications from several aspirants across the constituency, a move it described as a sign of continued public confidence in the former ruling party.
“Through our party’s constitution, the guidance of the National Elections Board and other relevant party organs, and in consultation with the aspirants who qualified, the party has settled on Eng. Wilson Kigwa who will now fly the party flag in the forthcoming by-election,” the statement read.
The party declared that it was fully prepared for the mini poll, saying it is all systems go for Jubilee in Ol Kalou.
According to the statement, Jubilee leaders and supporters will intensify grassroots campaigns in the constituency in the coming days as the party seeks to retain the seat.
“Jubilee Party remains stronger, more focused, and more prepared than ever before. We are fully mobilized and ready to engage the people of Ol Kalou with a message of hope, development, unity, and accountable leadership,” the party said.
The party further noted that the late area Member of Parliament had been elected on a Jubilee ticket, adding that it was committed to preserving his legacy of development and service delivery.
“It is important to remember that the late Honourable Member of Parliament served under the Jubilee Party ticket, and we remain committed to protecting and advancing the legacy of service, development, and people-centred leadership that he stood for,” the statement added.
The Ol Kalou by-election is expected to attract stiff political competition as parties position themselves ahead of the vote, seen as a key test of political influence in the region.
Samuel Muchina Nyagah will fly the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) flag in the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election after emerging victorious in a tightly contested party nomination exercise held on Friday.
Nyagah received his provisional certificate after clinching the UDA ticket.
He secured 3,221 votes to clinch the ticket ahead of George Wambugu Kanuri, who garnered 3,077 votes in the primaries that attracted 10 aspirants seeking the ruling party’s endorsement.
Former MCA Sammy Ngotho clinched the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket ahead of the July 16, 2026 by-election.
The leaders will battle it out for the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election.
