Flowrence Nyagah in a past photo. She was found killed in her houseDetectives are investigating an incident where the body of a 43-year-old woman was found in her house after a suspected murder incident in the Kasarani area of Nairobi.
Police said the body of Florence Nyagah was discovered in
her room on the second floor of their apartment long after her murder. The
suspect is said to be a police officer and was on the run by Monday, police said.
The discovery was made on the morning of March 1, 2026 morning at the
apartment along Lumumba Drive, police said.
Police who visited the scene said the body had three stab
wounds in the chest and forehead and lay in a pool of blood on the floor. She
was a saloonist in the area.
The murder weapon, a knife, was found under a table in the
kitchen without a handle.
The police said the woman had been in the house with her
partner, who is alleged to be a police officer, on February 28 when she talked on
a video call with her daughter.
It was until March 1 when the body was discovered by the
daughter who had visited the house.
This was after the deceased failed to respond to her
subsequent calls.
Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the
mortuary pending an autopsy. No arrest has been made over the incident amid a
hunt on the suspect, police said on Monday.
The motive of the murder was not immediately established.
Elsewhere in Mavoko, Machakos County, a night guard was
hacked to death in a robbery at a quarry site.
Francis Wangia was on duty at the Silverstone Quarrying
Company Limited site when a gang struck on Sunday dawn. They tied other guards
and beat them up as they embarked on a robbery mission. Police said they stole
three conveyor belts, among other items from the site.
The gang also vandalized the control room and damaged
security footage that had captured their activities there.
The injured three guards were rushed to the hospital in a
stable condition while the body was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.
Police said on Monday they were pursuing the mob behind the
attack.
In Lumakanda, Kakamega County, a body of a man was found on
the roadside on the Lumakanda-Soweto Road after a suspected murder.
It was later identified to be Zedekiah Onjero, 43, and he had a deep cut on the left side of the head.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and
other procedures. Police said on Monday no arrest had been made and the motive
was yet to be known.
In Tabaka, Kisii County, one Ben Mauti, 69, was found dead on a footpath. Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
