Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium on Friday burst into electrifying energy as the entertainment segment took centre stage.

The atmosphere shifted from ceremonial formality to vibrant festivity as celebrated Kenyan artists stepped onto the podium, turning the national event into a spirited cultural showcase.

President William Ruto, together with leaders in attendance, joined Kenyans in the event.

Comedian and entertainer Captain Otoyo Sibuor was among the first to steal the spotlight.

His humorous portrayal of everyday Kenyan habits, mannerisms and social behaviours sparked waves of laughter across the venue.

Otoyo’s act resonated with the spirit of Jamhuri Day, offering a light-hearted celebration of Kenyan identity and shared culture.

Beyond humour, the artists aligned their performances with this year’s national theme by promoting tourism-focused messages.

They encouraged Kenyans to explore the country’s lesser-known wonders—from national parks and lakes to deserts and cultural heritage sites—highlighting Kenya’s beauty and potential as a global destination.

The musical lineup elevated the energy further.

Popular musician Iyanii thrilled the crowd with his hit 'Donjo Maber', performed alongside Dufla, who joined him on stage.

Iyanii later performed his celebrated track 'Furaha ni kuwa na marafiki', amplifying the jubilant mood.

Gospel artist Guardian Angel also graced the stage with his uplifting performance, accompanied by choreographed dancers who added colour and rhythm to the show.

The entertainment segment not only energised the celebration but also reinforced the cultural richness and unity at the heart of Jamhuri Day.

Through music, humour and dance, Kenyans left Nyayo Stadium with renewed pride in the nation’s creativity and spirit.
