President William Ruto on Saturday opened Yussuf Haji Girls Secondary in Masalani, Garissa County.
He also handed over a new bus to the school and laid the foundation stone for Phase ll of the institution’s development.
Ruto noted that the government made a deliberate decision to increase the education budget from Sh500 billion in 2022 to Sh702 billion in 2025 to strengthen the system.
"This investment has helped improve school infrastructure, enabled the hiring of 100,000 teachers, and expanded funding for our colleges and universities," he said.
"Our goal is to equip our people, our greatest resource, with the highest quality skills to build the human capital necessary to move Kenya towards first-world status.
He was accompanied by Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff, Health CS Aden Duale, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen and his PS Raymond Omollo.
