Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga visited Kamukunji Grounds in Kibra, Nairobi County, to fulfill a promise to the Kamukunji Peer Pressure self-help group.
In a post on Sunday evening, she announced handing over a public address (PA) system to the group— a gesture meant to boost their activities and enhance community engagement.
Accompanied by the area Member of Parliament, Mwalimu Orero, Ruth Odinga underscored the importance of the donation in supporting local initiatives.
"This evening, I visited the Kamukunji Grounds in Kibra, Nairobi County, to fulfill a promise I made to the Kamukunji Peer Pressure self-help group by handing over a public address system," she posted.
The PA system is expected to enhance the group’s ability to organise events, hold community meetings, and amplify their outreach.

While on the ground, Ruth Odinga took the opportunity to address ODM members present, stressing the need for unity and adherence to party structures.
She reminded party members that ODM has only one official spokesperson, Secretary General Hon. Edwin Sifuna, and cautioned against allowing individuals to convene meetings or issue statements without proper mandate.
"We must remain vigilant against those attempting to speak for the Party without authority."
Ruth Odinga reiterated that the strength of ODM lies in its cohesion and collective focus on its mission, and urged members to maintain solidarity and uphold party principles at all times.
"As I have always said, ODM must remain strong, united, and focused on its mission," she concluded.
Her calls for ODM unity come just days after her brother,
Oburu Odinga, affirmed that the party remains intact and focused ahead of the
2027 General Election.
The ODM party leader said no factional pressure would be allowed to destabilise the party, adding that ODM is instead preparing to strengthen its grassroots and national structures.
He dismissed claims that ODM was gearing up to remain in the opposition, stressing that the party is targeting power.
“Those who want to break ODM, it will never happen in my hands. We shall not allow ODM to be divided. We are going to move forward and make ODM stronger so that when it comes to 2027, we are either going to do it alone or we go with parties with which we shall negotiate a good deal to work together. That is what our party is all about,” he said.
“There is nothing like forming a party to be in the opposition. I’m not going to lead my party to be in the opposition, I’m going to lead my party to be in the government.”
