Police in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County, are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man who was found in a family borehole after a suspected drowning incident.

The deceased, identified as James Korir, was discovered long after he is believed to have drowned.

Police said the body was retrieved from the borehole and moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations into the weekend incident.

In a separate incident in Ainabkoi, also in Uasin Gishu County, police launched a probe into the death of a 76-year-old woman in what is being treated as a suspected murder.

The deceased, identified as Mary Jepkori, was found on a footpath approximately 20 metres from her house.

According to police, the motive of the incident was not immediately known.

The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy as investigations continue.

Elsewhere in Nairobi County, officers are examining the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was discovered in an abandoned quarry in Mihango.

Police said the man was found over the weekend wearing a black T-shirt and brown sweatpants.

According to officers, they suspect the deceased either drowned or was killed and his body dumped at the scene.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and identification, as locals demanded that the quarry be filled for safety reasons.

In Ruiru, a fatal road incident led to unrest after a salon car hit and killed a man at the Kihunguro roundabout.

Police said the driver fled the scene as a mob descended on the vehicle and set it on fire.

Officers moved the body of the deceased to the mortuary, while the burnt wreckage was taken to the local police station.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

In Masogo, within the Kibigori area of Kisumu County, police are investigating the suspected murder of a 47-year-old man whose body was found on the roadside.

The deceased, identified as Wilson Kipsang Rono, had a deep cut on the cheek and his body was discovered lying next to a motorcycle.

Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi’s Donholm area, officers are probing the death of a man whose body was found lying dead on the roadside.

In another case in Riruta, Nairobi, a man identified as 32-year-old Kelvin Omondi was found dead in his bed after reportedly complaining of a headache.

In Loruk, Baringo County, a grade two boy died after being attacked by a crocodile at the shores of Lake Baringo.

According to police, the boy, a pupil at Kampi Ya Samaki Primary School, had been fetching water when the incident occurred.

Officers said members of the Kenya Coast Guard Service, together with local residents, retrieved the body from the crocodile before it escaped into deeper waters.

The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Police said investigations into all the incidents are ongoing as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding each death.
