Ex-DP Rigathi Gachagua engages with Mbeere North residents [RIGATHI GACHAGUAX]Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took an early morning walk through the villages of Mbeere North on Saturday, November 22, engaging with residents and praising their resilience and determination.
The exercise, part of his intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the November 27 by-elections, saw Gachagua interact directly with community members, listening to their concerns and aspirations.
Speaking to residents, Gachagua lauded their commitment to building a stronger Mbeere North and a better Kenya.
"Early and healthy morning walk through the villages of Mbeere North reminds me of the resilience and determination of our people. Listening to the voices of the residents, I am inspired and applaud their resolute commitment to building a better Mbeere North and a stronger Kenya," he said.
The former Deputy President took the opportunity to highlight the community’s commitment to fair and transparent elections, urging residents to uphold integrity and discourage any form of malpractice in the upcoming polls.
“Deep in Karingiri village, the community has spoken loud and clear. They are well-informed and united,” he added.

Gachagua has recently intensified grassroots engagement in Mbeere North even as he reinforces his support for Newton Karish, the Democratic for Citizens Party (DCP) candidate for the constituency.
He described Karish as a people-focused leader with a clear vision for the constituency’s development.
Earlier on November 18, the DCP leader said he is fully aligned with local voters, praising what he called the awakened and hardworking villagers of Mbeere North, saying they are ready for political renewal.
He spoke during his early-morning door-to-door campaign, where he spent time walking through villages and engaging residents directly.
He said the personal interactions reinforced his belief that Karish is the right choice for the constituency.
Gachagua said he will continue visiting homes and villages to ensure voters hear the message of what he termed a liberation agenda.
He framed the campaign as a movement to build a stronger and more united Kenya.

“I am with the villagers every step of the way,” he said.
He added that his efforts were focused on reaching people ‘one by one, home by home, village by village.’
The former Deputy President described Karish as a leader rooted in community needs.
He said the candidate’s approach prioritises ordinary citizens and their day-to-day challenges.
He urged residents to embrace what he called a moment of change.
“Change is in Mbeere North,” Gachagua said, noting that his discussions with villagers showed growing support for Karish.
