Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi on Friday, November 7, launched his much-anticipated book, The Fight for Order.

The book reveals an account of Kenya’s political power plays, statecraft, and the behind-the-scenes deals that have shaped government over the years.

In a statement ahead of the launch, Muturi expressed his gratitude to supporters and readers who have walked with him on his journey of public service and reflection.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I look forward to sharing this moment with all my friends, colleagues, researchers, scholars, and readers,” he said.

Described as a compelling insider’s chronicle, The Fight for Order explores the inner workings of government, the small ambitions that guide leaders, and the hidden obstacles that continue to hinder Kenya’s progress.

Drawing from over four decades of experience, spanning the Judiciary, opposition politics, and top leadership roles, including Speaker of the National Assembly, Attorney General, and Cabinet Secretary, Muturi offers a rare perspective on how power operates behind closed doors.

Copies of the book, he said, are available at the launch venue and leading bookstores, including Nuria Bookstore.

The Fight for Order offers both a memoir and a mirror to Kenya’s political soul.

Muturi described the event as one of the most memorable moments in his career, bringing together leaders, scholars, friends, and citizens with a shared interest in Kenya’s political evolution and governance.

“The Fight for Order is not just my story; it is a mirror of our collective journey as a nation — our struggles, lessons, and ongoing quest to build a functional and just society,” Muturi said.

He expressed gratitude to all dignitaries present, including key United Opposition leaders, for their attendance and contributions.

Among those at the event were former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and Eugene Wamalwa.

Gachagua praised Muturi for his principled approach to public service.

“JB Muturi’s story reminds us that leadership is not only about power, but about principle — holding firm when institutions are tested and prioritising service above self. His reflections offer timely insight into what it takes to build lasting order in public life,” Gachagua said.

Matiang’i highlighted the broader significance of Muturi’s work for political discourse in Kenya.

“It was a pleasure to join my colleague and friend, former Attorney General JB Muturi, during the launch of his new book, The Fight for Order. Together with my colleagues in the United Opposition, we reflected on leadership, unity, and the ongoing efforts to improve governance in line with the Constitution,” he said.
