President William Ruto convened a breakfast meeting at the State Lodge in Kakamega on Saturday with regional leaders.
He was accompanied by key political figures, including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, alongside other regional leaders and grassroots representatives.
The gathering is part of a broader push by the administration to deepen engagement with communities in Western Kenya ahead of the next election cycle.
The meeting, billed as a grassroots outreach event, comes amid continued efforts by the Ruto administration to consolidate its support base in the region.
The president’s itinerary in recent months includes a high‑profile tour of Western Kenya, where he launched development projects and appealed to local leaders for unity.
At Saturday’s breakfast, officials emphasised development, unity and participatory politics.
