Thugs kill 2 guards, steal property in robbery incident at Kabete school, Nairobi

The attackers are said to have made away with at least 10 laptops, several keyboards and routers.

A gang raided a secondary school in Kabete, Nairobi and killed two guards before escaping with property.

The incident happened at the Kabete Vet Lab Secondary School, police said.

According to the police, the Saturday dawn incident occurred shortly after a rehearsal exercise involving Form Four students.

Security cameras showed a group of unidentified assailants storming the compound under the cover of darkness, targeting the security guards on duty before proceeding to vandalise several offices and the computer laboratory.

The attackers are said to have destroyed CCTV cameras and made away with at least 10 laptops, several keyboards, and routers.

Some of the stolen items were later found discarded along the escape route.

Investigators are now analysing CCTV footage and other forensic evidence as they pursue key leads that could help identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Preliminary reports suggest that the attackers may have been individuals familiar with the school environment, police said.

The bodies of the two guards are currently at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) mortuary awaiting post-mortem examinations.

A team of detectives visited the scene on Monday as part of the probe into the murder. The team said they are pursuing good leads into the murder.

Elsewhere in Ntimaru, Migori county, one John Rawe, 25 was killed in an attack on the road by unknown people.

Police said the man was rushed to a local hospital where he died on arrival.

The motive of the fatal attack was not immediately known. The body was moved to a local mortuary pending an autopsy and hunt on the attackers.

And a 54-year-old woman died in hospital after being assaulted at her home in Adungosi, Busia County.

Police said Roseline Iserien had been assaulted at home before she was rushed to the local hospital where she succumbed to the injuries. Police said they are pursuing a known suspect in the murder which occurred on October 20, 2025.

The motive of the assault was not immediately known. The body was moved to a local mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

Murder incidents have been on the rise in various parts of the country amid efforts to solve them. Police say up to eight cases are reported daily in the worrying trend.

A special homicide team in the DCI is pursuing those cases so far reported and some have been solved, police said. Some of the cases are pending in courts.
