On Wednesday, October 8, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Matiang’i visited Munya to offer their condolences following the passing of his grandmother.
''Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and I met with former Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya to commiserate with him following the passing of his beloved grandmother, Mama Mwakairu Rukunga (Bamung’o)," he stated.
Matiang’i, who served as Interior and Education Cabinet Secretary during former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, has maintained a close working relationship with both Munya.
