The driving instructor captured on video shouting at learners has now apologised following the viral video.

In a series of videos seen by The Star, the driver, who has since been suspended by the driving school, apologised for his actions.

Swaleh attributed the attitude to stress as a result of having as many as seven learners to train at a go, with trips of up to three times within six hours.

“I have asked for forgiveness not only to him (student). Even the company and everybody who has watched the videos,” Swaleh said.

He went on to say that he also looked for the student who shared the video that went viral.

According to him, the student only uploaded the video for fun, but things got out of hand as soon as it went viral.

“I looked for him. Found him and he said he did not have any bad intentions when he posted the video,  it was just for fun, but was misinterpreted.”

Swaleh insisted that he loves his job and he does not think he was wrong for being hard on his learners. He then urged instructors to be firm with learners to make them good drivers at the end of the day.

“I love my job and I work hard. I have taught many drivers who are now qualified drivers who have licenses and jobs," he said.

“I love all driving schools in the Coast and I urge instructors to work hard. Instructors must be serious, not easy on learners, because they will play with you, and when that happens, they won’t learn a thing, and you will be told your student failed when they take their test at NTSA. All this will be because they did not listen to what I taught them,” he added.

Swaleh went viral after one of the learners he was instructing recorded him shouting and hurling insults at one of them.

He then uploaded the video on Instagram before other users picked it up and uploaded it on TikTok.

Kenyans caused an uproar over the video, questioning what kind of instructor he was.
