During the trade fair, President Ruto officially laid the foundation stone for the China–Kenya International Commerce Centre, a landmark development set to take shape within the Jamhuri Showground.

The project, valued at Sh5 billion, will occupy more than 68,000 square metres and is seen as a major boost to Kenya’s investment landscape. It is expected to house a modern exhibition and trade centre, a five-star hotel, and other commercial facilities.

According to the government, the development will directly create 3,000 jobs and catalyze increased local and international business activity in the capital.

Speaking at the launch, President Ruto described the project as a strong indication of investor confidence in Kenya’s economy.

He said the country offers a stable and predictable environment that supports enterprise and ensures fair returns for investors.
