The Committee on Administration and Internal Security will hold a meeting with the National Police Service, the National Police Service Commission and the Ministry of Interior on the scheduled recruitment of police constables.
The meeting will be held in the Mini Chamber, County Hall, from 9.30 am.
The 2025 Kenya police recruitment for new constables was slated for September 2025, with a nationwide exercise announced by President William Ruto in August.
The process is primarily online through the National Police Service (NPS) portal, with applications submitted by October 9, 2025, followed by reporting for training on November 17.
NPSC has since announced that the exercise will take place between Friday, October 3, and Thursday, October 9, 2025, covering all 47 counties.
The upcoming exercise represents one of the largest police recruitment initiatives in recent years, covering nearly every sub-county across Kenya.
The commission has assured Kenyans that the process will be transparent, merit-based, and in line with established recruitment guidelines.

CS Askul to update Parliament on Kenya’s gains since EAC revival
Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) and Regional Development, Beatrice Askul, will brief MPs on the gains Kenya has made since the revival of the East African Community in 1999.
Askul will make the presentation to the National Assembly
Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee at 10am, Bunge Towers.
The East African Community (EAC) was officially revived on November 30, 1999, when the Treaty for the Establishment of the EAC was signed by the Heads of State of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in Arusha.
This marked a significant milestone in the region’s efforts
toward deeper economic, political, and social integration.
The revival followed the collapse of the original EAC in 1977, due to ideological differences, economic disparities, and political tensions among the founding members.
However, recognising the immense potential of regional cooperation, the partner states reinitiated dialogue in the 1990s, culminating in the signing of the 1999 Treaty, which came into force on July 7, 2000.

This milestone underscores KNCHR's commitment to
strengthening human rights protection in Kenya and will bring together state agencies,
civil society, development partners, and the media to deliberate on measures
that promote accountability, inclusivity, and respect for freedoms.
Ministry to hold editors’ briefing ahead of Mazingira Day 2025
Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, through the State Department for Forestry, will hold an editors’ media briefing on Mazingira Day 2025.
The meeting will be held at the Norfolk Hotel from 8 am.
Mazingira Day, commemorated annually on October 10, is a national platform for advancing environmental awareness and mobilising collective action towards Kenya’s goal of achieving 30 per cent tree cover by 2032.
The 2025 celebrations will be held under the theme “Citizen-Centric Tree Growing and Environmental Stewardship”, in alignment with the National Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Strategy (2023–2032), which seeks to restore 10.6 million hectares of degraded land through the growing of 15 billion trees.
