The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a public alert following the collapse of a section of the Muthaiga–Kiambu (B32) Road.

The authority said the affected section is between Fourways Junction and St. Mary's School–Runda/Total Petrol Station–Fourways.

“The affected section has been barricaded, and motorists are advised to strictly follow the traffic guidance provided by marshals and police,” Kenha said.

Kenha has deployed teams to the site and is working to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.

“Your safety is our priority,” the authority said.

This is the second notice on collapse road section since September begun.

On September 3, Kenha closed the Nakuru-bound carriageway of the Nakuru–Eldoret (A8) Road at Eveready Roundabout after a sinkhole developed on the busy highway.

Its engineers got to work immediately, assessing the situation and working to restore normal traffic flow. Kenha stated that the road is now safe from any further water or geological threats.

The authority assured the public that it will continue to monitor the behaviour of the pyroduct upstream to ensure the continued safety of all road users.

Motorists were advised to proceed with caution and adhere to road safety guidelines as monitoring continues.

Nakuru area is prone to sinkholes.
