DIG Lagat makes impromtu visit to Narok Police Station

During the visit, DIG Lagat engaged with members of public and NPS officers serving at the station.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kenya Police Service, Eliud Lagat made an impromptu visit to Narok Police Station on Wednesday.

Upon his arrival, Lagat, who was in the company of senior officers, was welcomed by Narok Central  Sub-County Police Commander John Momanyi, OCS Erick Opiyo and Base Commander Julius Phoghisio.

In his tour, the DIG engaged members of the public, during which he made an observation that some key areas in the station needed improvement.

The DIG  proceeded to have a meeting with the sector heads, commending them for their dedication and commitment despite the challenges experienced.

The police boss emphasised that teamwork is important in order to combat crime.

 “Stern action will be taken against officers who are found culprits of corrupt activities," he warned.

The DIG also emphasised the importance of mental health, stating that the mental health of police officers has a huge impact on service delivery to the society.

He urged officers to be open about their challenges and not to fear seeking help when overburdened.

Lagat urged officers to always execute their mandate within the confines of the law and police regulations.

He added that NPS will continue improving the working conditions of officers, adding that the current adminstration is committed to the welfare of NPS members.

The police officers appreciated the DIG's visit, stating that such engagement help bridge the gap in communication between field officers and the top command.

They assured the DIG that service delivery will be practised with commitment.
