
Detectives are investigating
the murder of a 25-year-old woman outside her shop in Mukurweini Town, Nyeri county.
Police said Hilda
Mukami Gathenyi was stabbed multiple times by unknown lone attacker on Monday
morning as she walked to her business base in Mote area.
The police who
attended the scene said her body had four stab wounds in the ribs, right
breast, forehead and right armpit.
The motive of the
attack was not immediately established.
She was
pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital, police said, adding the body was
moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
The police are
investigating the murder and have yet to establish the motive and assailant.
In Bomet’s Ndanai
area, a Kenya Forest Service warder identified as Kipronoh Leitich, 55, was found
lying in a pool of blood outside his house at their quarters after suspected
murder.
Police said the
incident happened in Kipsingei area, and the man was half naked when his body
was found on Tuesday.
The body had a
visible bleeding forehead injury suspected to have been inflicted by a sharp
object, police said, adding he may have come to the house the previous night, where
he was attacked.
The assailants
may have called him outside the house or dragged him there, police said.
The clothes he wore
the previous day and his mobile phone were found in his house while the door
was left open after the murder, police said.
His mobile
phone had been switched off. The gadget was taken for analysis to establish if the
assailants called him before the murder.
The deceased, who was staying alone in the house had prepared and taken his supper.
The deceased's
body was discovered by a civilian who is a casual worker and had reported to
the station in the morning.
Police picked
up the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations, even as the
motive of the murder remains unknown.
