Kenya’s telecommunication company Safaricom has unveiled BLIVE, an innovative time-based data bundle.
According to Safaricom, the bold model is designed to redefine how customers can experience the internet.
The event took place on Wednesday, August 20, at the Michael Joseph Centre.
Speaking during the launch, Chief Consumer Officer Safaricom Fawzia Ali Kimanthi said they are aware of their customers’ needs as they are all different.
“Some of our customers prefer managing their usage in MBs or GBs, while others simply want to enjoy the internet for a set period of time,” Kimanthi said.
“By adding this option, we’re putting control back in the hands of our customers and enabling them to focus on what matters most, whether it is learning, creating, connecting, or even hustling.”
The Chief Consumer Officer, however, noted that the data bundle is not limited, as that would cause congestion and other users would find it hard to use the internet.
By expanding the bundle options, Safaricom is ensuring that every customer, youth, creators, hustlers, entrepreneurs and professionals have the power to choose what works for them.
The telecommunication company noted that B-LIVE builds on Safaricom’s commitment to being an enabler of Kenya’s digital lifestyle.
“This innovation adds to the Safaricom’s existing traditional MB and GB bundle options, giving more choices to customers,” they said.
It favours students catching up on online classes, creators streaming and uploading their content, to professionals who are working on the go.
Customers can now access a non-stop browsing of 1 hour at Sh20, 3 hours at Sh50 and 6 hours at Sh150, giving them the freedom and flexibility to stay connected in a way that suits their lifestyle.
B-LIVE Data bundle is available via *544# or *555#, offering a range of hourly bundles.
The event was also graced by different creatives from Tiktokers, Social media personalities, business owners and even artists.
Some of the notable figures present were Iyanii, Azeezah Hashim, Sue Owino, known for her exceptional cooking videos, Fathermoh, Harry Craze, Radio Jambo's Mbusii and Lion, amongst many others.
