In an advisory issued by Nairobi Area Traffic Commandant Joseph Chirchir, roadblocks have been increased at major points, including diversions.
The measures are aimed at easing movement for players, match officials, and fans, as well as bolstering security around Kasarani.
This follows last Sunday’s security lapses, which forced the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to slap Kenya with some penalties, which include limiting the number of fans at the stadium.
Under the revised plan:
1. CBD to Thika, Ruiru, Juja: Use Kiambu Road via Exit 4 (roadblock at Muthaiga).
2. Thika Superhighway to Mwiki: Use Ruaraka–Baba Dogo–Lucky Summer–Nairobi River route.
3. Thika/Juja/Ruiru to CBD: Use Northern Bypass or Kiambu Road (roadblock at Ruiru Interchange).
4. Githurai to CBD: Use Githurai 44–Kiambu Road.
5. CBD to Kasarani without access passes: Use service lanes at Exit 7 and Exit 8.
Motorists have also been advised to avoid Thika Road at all costs to avoid major snarl-ups.
Police have also retained last Sunday’s match-day closures, including a full shutdown of Aerodrome Road from Madaraka Roundabout to Bunyala Roundabout, and a partial closure of Lang’ata Road between Madaraka and Lusaka roundabouts.
Mombasa Road will be restricted on one side from Lusaka Roundabout to Bunyala Roundabout.
Mombasa Road to CBD: Motorists are advised to use Likoni–Enterprise Road at General Motors or the Southern Bypass via Ole Sereni.
Lang’ata Road to CBD: Drivers should divert to Raila Odinga Road or Muhoho Road at the Mbagathi Roundabout.
Morocco and DR Congo, both on six points, will clash in another decisive fixture to determine the qualifier from the group.
