A major traffic jam has blocked the Kisumu-Ahero
road, causing vehicles to stall for over an hour.
Police are in the area trying to clear the road,
which has been completely blocked, with vehicles not moving in either
direction.
The major snarl-up started due to funeral
processions along the road, which caused long-distance lorries to overlap and
block the road.
The entire stretch between Ahero and Kisumu has
been blocked by stalled vehicles. Drivers and passengers are appealing to
police to help unlock the major road.
One of the travellers, Paul Lakuse, said they had
been stuck in the jam for over an hour, with no indication of the road opening
up.
“We
appeal to security personnel to help unblock the road so we can travel to our
destinations,” he said.
