Boniface “Bonnie” Kamau has been unveiled as the SportPesa Mega Jackpot millionaire, after winning Sh424,660,618.

In a ceremony held at JWMarriot on Wednesday, Kamau scooped the amount, which he won after correctly predicting the outcome of 17/17 games in the matches played on March 3, 2025.

Kamau is the fourth SportPesa Mega Jackpot winner, and the first since 2018. The first Mega Jackpot was won by Samuel Abisai Sh221,301,602 in April 2017.

A month after Abisai, trio winners, Daniel Rono, Geoffrey Keitany and Florence Machogu, bagged Sh111,176,374.

Gordon Ogada was the third winner, with Sh230,742,881 in February 2018 before Cosmas Korir won Sh208,733,619 in September 2018.

The online betting company announced Kamau as the winner of the coveted position in a statement on Monday, August 4, 2025.

In an audio shared by the company, CEO Ronald Karauri called Kamau to deliver the news, to which the later responded with what would be described as a humble tone.

"Sasa wewe ndio umeshinda mega jackpot tu bana (Man, you are the winner of the mega jackpot)," Karauri announced, specifying the exact amount.

Karauri went ahead and informed the man that the government's tax on winnings had been removed.

This meant the entire colossal sum would be deposited directly into his bank account.

"So hii pesa yote inaingia kwa mfuko yako (All this money is yours),” Karauri said.

Kamau, however, remained calm and humble despite the life-changing news.

"Unajua ningekuwa yaani nimeumbwa vitofauti sana.Na vitu zingine ni God hata huwezi jua yaani wacha tu tuseme ni God (You know I am built different. Some things can only be attributed to God),” Kamau said.

Following his win, as a true African son, Kamau's first instinct visited his home in Nakuru, via a flight sponsored by SportPesa.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, SportPesa PR Manager Willis Ojwang' recalled how he has been awaiting the unveiling of the mega jackpot winner.

Seemingly settling critics wondering if the SportPesa Mega Jackpot is real, Ojwang' assured that "we manufacture real millionaires".
