Detectives are investigating a string of violent killings reported in different parts of the country over the weekend, leaving several families in shock and grief.
In Kilgoris Town, Narok County, a 34-year-old man was found murdered following a suspected robbery.
The body of Joseph Waweru, a casual labourer, was discovered on the morning of Saturday, August 9, lying in a pool of blood in Huruma Estate.
Police said he had a stab wound to the chest, likely inflicted by a sharp object. It remains unclear what was stolen from him. His body was taken to Transmara West Sub-County Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. No arrests have been made.
In Nandi County’s Meswo sub-location, a domestic row turned deadly when 28-year-old Kiplangat Bett was fatally stabbed, allegedly during a confrontation with his wife outside their home.
His body was found lying in a pool of blood with a stab wound on the left side of his ribs. The motive for the attack remains unknown, and police are pursuing the suspect.
Meanwhile, in Chepchoina, Trans Nzoia County, a man identified as Joshua Kipngetich was stabbed and killed on Saturday night.
His body was found near a shop in the town with a chest wound. The motive for the killing is yet to be established, and police have launched a manhunt for the attacker.
In Mahanga, Vihiga County, 49-year-old Stanley Angose was found dead with deep cuts to his head, elbow, and right arm.
Police say the attack happened early Saturday morning as he was leaving a funeral vigil. The motive remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
Authorities have raised concern over a steady rise in murder cases, with police records showing up to eight such incidents reported across the country daily.
