Just days after securing promotion to the FKF National Division Two League, Rift Valley Sports Academy (RVSA) are still on the verge of it.
The Kajiado-based outfit, who topped Zone 'A' of the Nairobi West Regional League with 67 points, will face Kawangware’s Escalators FC, the Zone 'B'  champions, with 64 points in a decisive playoff on Saturday at the NCC Grounds along Ngong Road, Nairobi.
The clash between the two zone winners is expected to draw scouts and fans alike as both teams look to make a mark before stepping into the bigger stage.
Both sides have already booked their slots in next season’s Division Two League, which features teams from the Nairobi and Central regions.  RVSA coach Dan Magero said there’s still business to settle.
“We are delighted to have qualified for the National Division Two, but we have unfinished business at the regional level and that is lifting the overall title,” Magero said.
His side is based in Ongata Rongai’s Kware area.
"We want to be the kings of Nairobi West,” he said.
RVSA sealed their promotion last weekend, rallying from behind to beat Laiser Hill 2-1 in their final match of the season.
After conceding early in the second half, the side backed by Mtaani Home Fibre launched a spirited comeback with Nicholas Wambua converting from the spot to seal the win and send the dugout into celebration.
The victory saw them edge out Jamuhuri Soccer, who ended the campaign with 65 points, while Laiser Hill finished third on 58.
Saturday’s match gives RVSA a chance to cap off a memorable season with silverware, while Escalators, who have also impressed in their campaign, will be looking to spoil the party.
Magero believes his side has what it takes to complete the job.
“We’ve grown as a team through the season and this playoff is a good test of our readiness for the national level,” he concluded.
