Juja MP George Koimburi is expected in Court today for pre-trial directions in a case where he's charged with stage-managing his abduction.

Koimburi who took plea on July 23 pleaded not guilty and was released on a Sh300000 cash bail.

The lawmaker has been hospitalised since May when he claims to have been abducted by people believed to be undercover police officers.

Koimburi claims he was tortured and has remained admitted to the Karen Hospital.

When he appeared for plea-taking following an order by Milimani senior principal magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi, Koimburi looked frail and sickly.

He was being supported by two men as he left his car for the courtroom.

The MP has been charged alongside six others including Juja Constituency Development Fund chairman Peter Kirato Muhia and Kanyenya-ini MCA Grace Nduta Wairimu.

They have been charged with allegedly conspiring to defeat justice by stage managing Koimburi's abduction in order to prevent arrest and arraignment at Kiambu Law Courts.

The state claims the MP was due to be arraigned to answer to charges of land fraud.

Koimburi faces an additional charge of publication of false information contrary to section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act.

The charge sheets shows that on June 7, 2025, at Karen Hospital via YouTube account, he gave a press release stating that he had been abducted and tortured by criminals.
