The meeting will discuss PFM (Amendment) (No. 4) Bill, 2024 (NA Bills No. 45 of 2024); the current status of public debt stock in Kenya; the sustainable strategies put in place to reduce the high cost of living in the country; the status of compliance with the commitment or proposed plan to pay Equalization Fund arrears; and the status of disbursement of funds for the conditional allocation on construction of County Headquarters.

Interior CS Murkomen will today head to Laikipia County for his Jukuaa la Usalama meetings after sessions in Trans Nzoia.
The meetings bring together opinion leaders, the National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs), security personnel and elected leaders for a town hall-style meeting.
The meetings, conceived by Murkomen, are set to be held across all counties.
They are aimed at getting feedback on security, development, and service delivery concerns from the residents and leaders in open and candid conversations.
EABL to announce its full-year 2025 financial results
East Africa Breweries Limited will announce its full-year financial results at EABL headquarters, Garden City, at 8 am.
EABL reported a 19 per cent increase in first-half net income to Sh8.1 billion for the six months ending December 2024, marking its first profit growth in three years. Net revenue rose 2 per cent to Sh67.9 billion.
The Kenyan shilling’s appreciation reduced foreign exchange losses and cut debt obligations by Sh5 billion to Sh43 billion. EABL declared a Sh2.50 interim dividend, up from Sh1 per share in the previous year.
Among EABL’s three markets, Tanzania recorded the highest growth at 16 per cent, followed by Kenya at 9 per cent and Uganda at 3 per cent.
Centre for Environment Justice and Development to hold a press conference on the Global Plastics Treaty
Centre for Environment Justice and Development (CEJAD),
supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBF), will hold a media breakfast to
discuss the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) process for the
Global Plastic Treaty in preparation for the upcoming Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC 5.2) in Geneva,
Switzerland.
The breakfast meeting will be held at Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi, from 8 am.
It will offer an opportunity to unpack what INC5.2 means for Kenya, explore the key issues on the negotiating table, and reflect on expectations for the Kenyan delegation.
Civil Society Organisations will share their analysis and outline priority areas for Kenya, with a focus on the protection of human health and the environment, the protection of frontline communities, including waste pickers, and the importance of strong provisions on plastic production, financial mechanisms, and implementation.
