The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced varying weather patterns across the country, including light rainfall, cold nights and strong winds.

This is according to the national weather forecast for the week of July 29 to August 4, 2025.

According to the forecast, light rainfall is expected in isolated areas of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya and sections of the Coast.

While most regions will remain dry, these showers may offer slight relief in otherwise cool and cloudy conditions.

Cold and cloudy mornings are likely to persist in parts of the Central Highlands and Western Kenya, with daytime conditions remaining relatively subdued.

Meanwhile, high daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C are forecast in North-eastern and North-western Kenya, particularly in areas like Turkana and Mandera counties.

Residents in these regions are advised to take precautions against heat-related discomfort.

In contrast, cold night-time temperatures, falling below 10°C, are expected to affect parts of the Central Highlands, South-eastern Lowlands, and the Rift Valley.

The public, especially in high-altitude areas, is urged to dress warmly and remain vigilant against cold-related health risks.

The Met Department also projects strong southerly to south-easterly winds of 25 knots or more in the Coastal areas, South-eastern Lowlands, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.

These strong winds may affect outdoor activities and marine operations.

Central region including Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi counties are expected to experience sunny intervals in the morning throughout the week.

These areas will experience showers during the afternoons, except Tuesday afternoon when it is expected to remain sunny.

Daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions are expected to prevail during the night in lower eastern region and parts of Tana River County, throughout the week.

The Kenya Meteorological Department continues to monitor conditions and advises the public to stay updated through official channels.

For localised updates and emergency alerts, the department has recommended consulting the official website.
