A section of Kenya Kwanza leaders on
Tuesday joined the family of ODM leader Raila Odinga in laying to rest a
relative in Bomet County.
The leaders, who included President
William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Bomet
Senator Hillary Sigei, and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, attended the
burial of Allyson Sigei, niece to Raila’s wife, Mama Ida Odinga.
Raila's sister Ruth Odinga, MP Junet Mohamed and Senator Eddy Oketch were also present.

Raila’s children, Winnie Odinga,
Rosemary Odinga, and Raila Odinga Jr, were also present during the ceremony.
In a brief statement after the
burial, Raila said, “Mama Ida and I joined the rest of our family in a solemn
send-off for Allyson Sigei in Bomet today. Allyson’s parents, Eunice and Sam
Sigei, are our in-laws. May Allyson rest in eternal peace!”

The rare public show of unity comes amid heightened political temperatures across the country, with the presence of Kenya Kwanza allies at the family event drawing attention across political divides.
