NYS noted that successful candidates will be employed as
waiters and waitresses at one of Nairobi’s most renowned high-end restaurant
chains, which has branches across the country.
According to the announcement, the job openings are part of
an effort to link trained NYS graduates with meaningful employment opportunities
in reputable institutions.
In this role, waiters and waitresses will act as ambassadors
of the restaurant’s guest experience.
Their responsibilities will go beyond taking orders and
delivering food.
“They are expected to greet and seat guests warmly, have a
deep understanding of the menu to make expert recommendations, and provide
attentive service throughout the guest’s visit,” NYS said.
Presenting meals with elegance, handling bills discreetly,
and maintaining a clean and polished table setup is also part of the
expectations.
Successful applicants must be team players who can
coordinate well with kitchen and bar staff while strictly following hygiene
and safety procedures that meet high international standards.
The ability to personalize service for regular customers and
professionally handle any guest concerns is also emphasized.
To qualify, applicants must have at least one to two years
of experience in high-volume, premium dining.
They should also hold a certificate in food and beverage
service or a related course.
Other requirements include fluency in English, excellent
grooming, and good etiquette.
Familiarity with the
Micros POS system and additional certifications in food safety or wine knowledge
will be an added advantage.
