In the notice, the authority is encouraging suppliers who wish to participate in its Tenders to register their supplier profiles in the eGP system.
“Interested parties can register by visiting the eGP portal: https://egpkenya.go.ke/supplier/registration,” KeRRA stated.
“Bidders can also register their profiles in the eGP system by visiting the eGP portal www.eGP.go.ke.”
This registration is a prerequisite for participating in KeRRA's tenders.
KeRRA further noted that registering in the eGP system comes with its advantages.
“Suppliers can position themselves for potential opportunities to work with KeRRA on various road projects across the country,” KeRRA explained.
Therefore, they urged many to register as the move also aims to streamline the procurement process and increase transparency in the authority's operations.
As a pre-requisite for use of the eGP system, a mandatory requirement is that suppliers are required to be registered by the National Treasury and Economic planning in the eGP system.
KeRRA is a state parastatal under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, established through the Kenya Road Act 2007.
Its core function is the management, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads.
Essentially, KeRRA is responsible for the upkeep and improvement of roads in rural areas of Kenya.
KeRRA eGP system is an online platform designed to digitize and streamline all public procurement processes in a government entity.
The system launched in April 2025, in Kenya, utilises information technology, particularly the internet, to automate the acquisition of works, goods and services.
It replaced traditional paper-based methods with online processes, automating tasks from planning to payment.
This system aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and
accountability within the procurement process.
This is achieved by making the procurement process more visible and accessible, which helps reduce corruption and ensure fair practices.
