CITAM church has expressed concern following the arrest and death of teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang while in police custody.
CITAM, in a statement on Wednesday, said the matter has been aggravated by the shooting of a hawker during Tuesday's protests in Nairobi.
The church's presiding Bishop, Rev Calisto Odede raised concern over what he termed as security officers who have no regard for human life and are operating with absolute impunity.
During the demonstrations, goons armed with batons were deployed to thwart any efforts by Kenyans to hold peaceful protests.
As a result, several protesters suffered injuries, property was vandalised, and innocent Nairobians were robbed.
CITAM questioned the authorisation of such actions and demanded to know why leaders are not treating the crisis seriously.
"Whose goons were they? Why can't our leaders understand that there is collective national grief and anger due to these cold-blooded, murderous acts? Where did this impunity come from?" Odede posed.
CITAM challenged the source of orders that led to the killings, emphasising that guilt lies not only with the weapon holder but also with those who gave the orders.
Odede compared the situation to biblical stories to show that the blood of the innocent is crying out for justice.
The bishop called for arrests and prosecution of all perpetrators and those complicit, not just resignations.
CITAM stressed that public trust can only be restored through proper justice, not half-measures.
"This kind of collective national anger cannot be atoned by mere resignation of individuals at whatever level. Justice must be done through arrest and prosecution of the entire line of perpetrators and complicit individuals," he said.
Odede warned that ignoring the protests sends a message that the voices of concerned citizens are meaningless, comparing it to biblical judgment upon careless rulers.
The cleric has urged leaders to stop dismissing online and street protests as distractions and instead treat them as genuine national concerns and act with sensitivity, integrity, and urgency.
