The vocal MP held talks with Gachagua at the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) offices in Nairobi on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
She later joined Gachagua on a tour of Githunguri Constituency and other parts of Kiambu County, signalling her intention to work with him ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking in Banana town on Thursday, Wamuchomba rallied her constituents to vote against President William Ruto in 2027.
“For those who were saying that I have left this camp, now they can see for themselves, I am here calling for one term,” Wamuchomba told an electrified crowd in Githunguri town.
This marked her first public appearance alongside Gachagua in over six months, following her earlier criticism of his leadership style.
Wamuchomba’s absence from Gachagua’s recent political events had raised eyebrows. Once a regular at his gatherings, especially after his impeachment, her silence had become increasingly noticeable.
She recently met former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, sparking speculation that she was abandoning Gachagua’s camp.
In a recent interview with a local TV station, Wamuchomba addressed speculation about joining Gachagua’s new party.
She responded cautiously, stating that her political decisions would be guided by alignment with her principles and vision for the country.
“I have my views on Wamunyoro,” she said. “I’ll support whoever embraces my values and expectations for the next government.”
Speaking in a separate interview with NTV on Monday, March 24, 2025, Wamuchomba said Gachagua must be “sensitive” and more accommodating to other communities if he wants to be seen as a national leader.
She noted that she had already raised the matter with him on multiple occasions.
“He doesn’t have to necessarily agree with me, but if it’s a fact, it’s a fact. Rigathi needs to realise that he has the mountain with him—he doesn’t need to keep punching the same message,” she said.
“He must also dissociate himself from his campaigns with the mountain connotation because he has fought for the mountain enough,” she added.
While acknowledging Gachagua’s strong advocacy for the Mt. Kenya region, Wamuchomba urged him to broaden his focus to include ‘forgotten’ communities across the country.
