President William Ruto's Senior Economic Advisor, Moses Kuria, now says former President Uhuru Kenyatta has a role in the country’s stability after regaining control of the Jubilee Party.

Kuria said he was pleased that the former Head of State had now taken charge of the former ruling party.

In a statement shared on his official X account on Thursday, June 12, 2025, Kuria commended Uhuru for reclaiming leadership of the Jubilee Party.

He noted that, as political tensions and divisions in Kenya intensify, the party under Uhuru’s leadership has a crucial role in maintaining national unity and ensuring the country’s stability.

“Congratulations, my senior brother, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for winning back control of the Jubilee Party. At a time when there is a competition to burn Kenya through escalation, emotions, and divisions, the Jubilee Party under your stewardship has a major role to play in keeping Kenya safe. The future is luminous,” Kuria stated.

Kuria’s remarks came hours after Uhuru secured a major legal victory in his bid to reclaim leadership of the Jubilee Party after months of court battles.

In a ruling delivered on Thursday, June 12, 2025, the High Court validated the resolutions of the Jubilee Party’s Special National Delegates Convention (SNDC) held in May 2023, which reinstated Uhuru as party leader and restructured the party’s top leadership.

The court’s decision also affirmed Saitoti Torome as the new National Chairman and Jeremiah Kioni as Secretary-General, formally ousting the rival faction led by East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega and nominated MP Sabina Chege.

Chege had declared herself the Jubilee Party leader during the leadership dispute.

Uhuru’s victory was eased by a move by Jubilee Chairman Nelson Dzuya, who withdrew his support from the Kega-led group and filed a consent recognising the legitimacy of the May 2023 delegates' convention.
