
Police in Gucha South in Kisii are investigating an incident in which thieves broke into a church and made away with equipment on Friday.
According to a police report, detectives received information on Friday concerning a robbery incident that had occurred in a church at Rangenyo village in Bonyaiguba sublocation.
Upon their arrival at the scene where the incident had occurred, the police established that unknown people had cut through the Mabati wall of the PAG church Rangenyo with an object suspected to be a Tinsnips at an unknown time and made their way into the church.
The thieves who had conducted the illegal act succeeded in making away with several items.
They include a power amplifier worth Sh85000, a power amplifier worth Sh25,000, a mixer worth Sh30,000, a cross over worth Sh10,000, an equaliser double worth Sh10,000 and a power controller worth Sh12,000.
Other stolen equipment includes a long-range speaker worth Sh45,000, two mid speakers worth Sh50,000 and speakers worth Sh7,000.
Investigations concerning the incident is ongoing.
Elsewhere in Nairobi, police received a report from the public about a mob injustice incident that had occurred along City Park Road on Sunday.
Police officers from Parklands who rushed the scene found the unknown male adult already dead after being beaten by the public.
According to the report by the police, the deceased had allegedly tried to snatch a mobile phone from a pedestrian before he was chased by the public and got caught up along City Park Road.
Upon searching the scene, no recovery of the phone was made.
The scene was later processed, and the body taken to Nairobi City mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.
The case is still pending for investigations by the DCI Parklands.
Cases of mob injustice have been on the rise.
In February, three suspected gangsters were killed in two different incidents within Mlolongo Township in Athi River, Machakos County.
The trio reportedly attacked passersby along Mlolongo roads before being subjected to mob justice on a Wednesday night.
Athi River East Deputy Sub county Police Commander Joseph Okuna stated that the incidents were reported at Mlolongo Police Station.
