Speaking in Zombe, Kitui East on Thursday, Kindiki warned leaders who have been going around causing tension among the people of Kenya.
The DP stated that every Kenyan has the right to seek leadership of the country, but it must not be done by creating fear.
He insisted that the government will do all that is within its power and the law to ensure Kenyans are safe and protected from any form of harm.
The DP reiterated the state’s commitment to ensure the peace and stability of the country at all times.
Kindiki assured citizens that they have nothing to fear, terming the leaders predicting unrest as just noise makers.
“We are committed to transforming Kenya. Do not be misled into politics of deceit and conmanship. Politics is a competition, not a fight. It should never create enmity. Some leaders go around causing tension. The government will do all it can to ensure peace and stability today, tomorrow, and in the future," Kindiki said.
“Do not be afraid of those making noise and predicting unrest. The government will not allow that. Everyone has the freedom to seek leadership, but it should not be through creating fear or tension."
The Deputy President was accompanied by UDA heavyweights and President Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, among others.
In May, Kindiki had termed any leader predicting violence as unpatriotic and a threat to the country's national security.
He said that the country has previously been through a painful past that was a result of political violence, insisting that the government would not allow a repeat of such.
"Utterances by leaders from any political persuasion prophesying violence, such utterances are unpatriotic and threaten the security of our nation."
The Deputy President assured Kenyans that the elections will be fair and peaceful, adding that the government will ensure democracy prevails.
