to mark World Clubfoot Day
Kenyatta National Hospital will today, June 3, mark the
World Clubfoot Day under the theme “Walking free from clubfoot disability”.
The event will commence at 8 am with a walk from the KNH
Administration Block Grounds through Hospital Road, then back to the KNH Information
Centre Grounds.
Guest of Honour KNH Ag. Chief Executive Officer William
Sigilia will grace the occasion.
Clubfoot birth defect, causes one or both feet to point
downward and inward, making walking difficult if untreated.
World Clubfoot Day shines a light on this condition,
emphasising the importance of early treatment.
By increasing awareness, the day ensures that every
child born with clubfoot, regardless of location, has access to effective care.
World Clubfoot Day started in 2013.
Official
reporting of the new SHA CEO
The Social Health Authority (SHA) will on Tuesday, June 3, hold
a media briefing to mark the official reporting of the new Chief Executive
Officer, Mercy Mwangangi.
The event will be held at the SHA Headquarters, 10th
Floor Boardroom at 12 pm.
Principal Secretary for Medical Services Ouma Oluga will
be in attendance.
EPRA
research and innovation conference 2025 begins
The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) will
today, June 3, mark the first day of its 6th Annual Regional Research and
Innovation Conference 2025, themed "Energy Access".
The Conference is an annual event which brings
together global leaders in energy and petroleum; policymakers, researchers and
scholars to share advances, ideas and draw actionable points.
The conference will be held at the College of
Insurance, South C, from 8 am to 5 pm, from Tuesday, June 3, to Thursday, June 5,
2025.
The
Inclusive Africa Conference kicks off
The sixth
edition of the Inclusive Africa Conference, meant to tackle the urgent need for
digital accessibility and inclusive innovation across Africa, will start today, June 3.
The
event, which will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi, will end on Thursday,
June 5, 2025.
The conference hosted by inABLE will focus on the role of artificial
intelligence (AI) in advancing assistive technologies.
According to a statement, it will convene global tech leaders, including
Google, Microsoft, Uber, Intuit, Meta, alongside government agencies,
innovators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, educators, organizations of persons
with disabilities, and the Mastercard Foundation to explore bold, scalable
solutions for advancing digital accessibility across Africa.
This year’s theme is “Scaling Digital Accessibility through Innovation & Entrepreneurship”.
